The Great Get Together Fish ‘n’ Chip Friday

Jo Cox MP lived her life spreading her belief that we have more in common than divides us. She was right, it is part of what makes Britain such a great nation.

In that spirit her family and friends were asking people across the country to get together with people in their community on 16th to 18th June – The Great Get Together. A get together is any gathering of neighbours, friends and those in our communities to celebrate what we have in common.

We thought that this was a fabulous idea which allowed us to reach out to our neighbours, build new relationships and help create strong communities. So, with fantastic support from the Commercial Services Team within Knowsley Council, our school staff and some of our Y6 children, we were able to reach out to our community by holding ‘Community Fish ‘n’ Chip Friday’.

Along with members of our local community we were delighted to be joined by Mrs Tina Harris, the Mayor of Halewood and Councillor Edna Finneran.

Have a look at our photographs below to see what a great afternoon was enjoyed by all!

Thank you to all who made this possible, including the wonderful members of our community, who we look forward to working alongside in the future.
