Visits and Visitors

At Yew Tree we like to enhance our children’s learning through visits and inviting visiting specialists into school.

Below are a taste of some of our visits and visitors:

Y2 Visit to Cockfield’s Farm

On Thursday 7th December, Maple class visited Cockfield’s Farm to visit a very special man – Santa Claus. While we were there, we were able to stroke and cuddle the animals in Santa’s Stable, including Tinsel the bunny and Snowball the guinea pig. Baubles the chicken sat on our heads! We visited Elf school and learnt how to become elves. We loved it, especially learning the special elf wave! After all that fun we visited Santa and told him what we would like for Christmas. He gave us all a special golden coin which we were able to spend in his toy shop. Finally, we were able to feed all of the animals in the barn. We really enjoyed feeding the sheep, goats and pigs, but the llamas were a little bit scary. We loved our visit to see Santa and can’t wait for him to visit us on Christmas Eve!

Birch Class visit to The Adephi Hotel

As a special reward for such excellent behaviour this term, Birch class were invited to a Christmas party at the Adelphi hotel. There was a magician, who was extremely funny and did amazing tricks, as well as a disco and lots of party games. We even had a delicious hot lunch. The most exciting part was Santa, who stayed for the whole party, and gave us an amazing present at the end of the day.
