The person responsible for developing PE at our school is Mrs C Lynas.
At Yew Tree Primary Academy, it is our intention to provide all pupils with a range of skills, attributes and knowledge so that they can become healthy, active adults who have an appreciation for keeping healthy through physical activity. We want our pupils to have an excellent understanding of the importance of activity, nutrition, sleep and hydration.
We want our pupils to be physically literate. We will ensure this by providing them with the necessary tools and skills so that they can have healthy bodies and minds, enjoy good physical and mental health and in turn have a sound understanding of their own bodies.
We will provide our pupils with opportunities to participate in fun, inclusive, high quality lessons and competitive sport. By demonstrating key sporting values, and those from #DREAMBIG, it is our intention that pupils will develop their ability to make decisions through leadership and self assessment.
We will use a variety of sporting activities to produce lifelong sports men and women and to unlock sporting talent. We believe that if they can dream it, they can be it.
Our partnership with Everton in the Community allows our pupils to apply their PE knowledge, skills and understanding beyond sport.
Our partnership also provides our pupils with a variety of opportunities to showcase talent, demonstrate inclusion and respect for all.
Pupils at Yew Tree are tremendous competitive sports men and woman.
They demonstrate determination, inclusion and resilience during events and always try their very best.
