Welcome to Year 3 - Elm Class

A very warm welcome to the Elm class page.

In Elm class, our teacher is Mrs Sewards and our teaching assistant is Mrs Whalley.

In our class, we work extremely hard and take great pride in our work to ensure that we achieve the very best that we can at all times. We always relish the opportunity to learn and apply new skills and knowledge.

We use our #DREAMBIG to remind us of our school values and these values help us to be more effective, motivated and resilient learners in all areas of our school life.

We embrace challenges, treating them as exciting opportunities to learn something new. Approaching tasks with a growth mindset, helps us to understand that we can always improve and achieve our goals with effort and perseverance; we celebrate our mistakes and use them as the stepping stones to learning!

As a class, we celebrate our successes together and support each other to overcome our weaknesses. We have consistently high expectations of ourselves and our class members. We value each person in our class and the unique contributions that they offer to enrich our learning experiences in Elm class.

Over the coming term, we can look forward to many exciting opportunities. Here we will be sharing pictures and information so that you can see what we've been learning in school and share our adventures.

Homework

Every Friday, homework for English, Maths and Spelling will be sent home. This is expected to be handed in on the following Tuesday. Our spellings will normally follow a spelling pattern or rule alongside the Year 3 and 4 Statutory Spellings which will be given out on Friday and tested on the following Friday.

We expect all of our children to read everyday and encourage you to use TTROCKSTARS every day to practise your times tables and see if you can improve your score!

PE

In Autumn, our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure that children have appropriate PE kits in school:

  • White and blue t-shirt with school logo
  • Navy blue shorts
  • Socks
  • Black pumps

For outdoor PE, children are welcome to bring in blue or black tracksuit bottoms/leggings and a plain sweatshirt.
